The Russian leadership wanted a less expensive alternative to the Pistolet-Pulemyot Degtyaryova (PPD-40), which was a close copy of the German Bergman MP-18. Enter Georgi Semenovich Shpagin. Tnw Ppsh-41 Capacity
Designed in the Soviet Union for use in WWII, the TNW PPSh-41 is built on russian parts kits and uses the original magazines. Options available include a 35 round detachable box magazine and a 71 round drum magazine.
Tnw Ppsh-41 Feature
The TNW PPSh-41 is built off of real Russian parts kits and uses the same magazines. It is available as a semi-automatic only carbine and is chambered in the original 7.62x25 Tokarev cartridge. Aside from the change in fire mode and the conversion to make it fire from a closed bolt, this gun is identical in feel and function to the original Russian SMG.
Tnw Ppsh-41 Ergonomics
Built with a wooden stock and a full-length handguard, the PPSh-41 offers a traditional rifle grip to the user. The large controls of the charging handle and magazine release give a user-friendly experience, however the handguard’s wide ports require great care to be taken while firing to avoid serious burns.
Tnw Ppsh-41 Mobility
Due to the PPSh-41 measuring in at a short 33 inches with a weight around 8 pounds, this carbine is enjoyable to use in any environment as long as it’s not winter and Germany isn’t invading. Its size and weight make running through open terrain and wooded areas an easy task while its short weight allows it to excel in close-quarters environments such as trenches or Berlin’s narrow alleys.
Tnw Ppsh-41 Fit-N-Finish
The PPSh-41 by TNW was built off of actual Russian parts kits with modifications to make it into a semi-automatic carbine. Designed to have many of its parts permanently welded together, this gun’s only issues with fit and finish are found in the magazines. Both stick and drum magazines are known to operate inconsistently between guns, so you may need to buy a handful of each to see which ones properly work with your gun.
