The M&P 22 is chambered in .22LR and feeds from a single-stack magazine with a 10 round capacity. This pistol does well cycling standard and higher velocity loads and has a feed ramp that ensures that any bullet type will feed into the chamber reliably.
Smith & Wesson M&P22 Feature
The Smith & Wesson M&P 22 is a polymer-framed, semi-automatic .22 caliber pistol that operates on a direct-blowback action. This pistol has a fixed 3.6 inch barrel paired with fully-adjustable target style sights and fires with a single-action trigger pull. The frame includes an accessory rail that allows the user to attach a flashlight which makes the gun more suitable for home defense if people struggle with recoil control.
Smith & Wesson M&P22 Ergonomics
The M&P22 has the same look and feel of the full-caliber M&P pistol line and all of them come with an ambidextrous thumb safety. The grip texturing is identical to the original M&P pattern with the rippled surface and the trigger pull is only slightly heavier than the M&P 9.
Smith & Wesson M&P22 Fit-N-Finish
The M&P 22 has a two-piece slide that includes a hardened steel bolt inside of an aluminum slide. The bolt is blued to reduce the risk of rusting while the slide is anodized to prevent corrosion. The frame is made of the same polymer used in the full-power M&P pistols.
