The SIG Sauer Mosquito is a blowback-operated, semi-automatic pistol aesthetically based on the SIG Sauer P226, but 10% smaller in size and chambered for the .22 LR cartridge. The pistol is manufactured with an aluminum-zinc alloy slide and polymer frame. The controls are similar to those present on full-size models and include (from front to rear) a left takedown lever, a left decocking lever, reversible magazine catch and ambidextrous manual safety. In addition, the pistol is provided with an integral safety lock

The SIG Sauer Mosquito is a polymer-framed, semi-automatic pistol chambered in .22LR with a magazine capacity of 10 rounds. Designed to mimic SIG’s P220 series of pistols, this gun maintains its inspiration’s trigger style, overall look, and control layout.
Sig Sauer Mosquito Ergonomics
The safety on the Mosquito is ambidextrous, however all other controls are not. The magazine release, de-cocking lever and slide lock are all set up for right-handed use. The trigger in single-action has a very enjoyable brake, however the double-action trigger pull is incredibly long and heavy.
Sig Sauer Mosquito Concealability
The SIG Mosquito measures 5 inches tall and about 7 inches long. Concealment is far from impossible, however you will need to choose the right holster and attire to prevent the gun from printing through your clothing.
Sig Sauer Mosquito Fit-N-Finish
The Mosquito is discontinued (current production is the ATI GSG Firefly) but was offered in a few color options. These included black, tan, green, stainless, and more, also offered in two-tone. The overall construction is well executed and it runs best on standard velocity ammo.
