Sig Sauer P320 M18 Capacity
The SIG M18 is chambered in 9x19mmNATO and shares magazine compatibility with the M17, the full-size and carry variants of the SIG P320 chambered in 9mm, and the full-size 9mm SIG P250 pistols. The United States Marine Corps’ adoption of this pistol set the standard magazine capacity at 21 rounds in mags with extended floor plates while flush-fit magazines allow for 10 and 17 round capacities.
Sig Sauer P320 M18 Feature
The SIG Sauer M18 pistol is the United States Marine Corp’s new standard sidearm and is a variant of the SIG P320. Built with a full-size grip module and “compact’ length slide and barrel, the M18 offers ample performance out of a smaller package than its big brother, the M17. Striker fired with a 3.9 inch barrel, this gun’s slide has an optics cut to accept red dot sights.
Sig Sauer P320 M18 Ergonomics
The M18 uses the SIG P250 and P320 grip modules that can easily be swapped out to allow the user different grip sizes to best fit their hand to the gun. The magazine release is reversible to accommodate left handed users and the safety and slide release are present on both sides of the frame. The slide has deep serrations to aid in manually cycling the action.
Sig Sauer P320 M18 Concealability
While the M18 has the shorter “compact” length barrel and slide, the full-sized grip can prevent easy concealment. The overall height of the gun exceeds 5.5 inches with flush fit magazines which increases the difficulty of concealing this pistol underneath clothing. The tang along the back of the grip can also cause discomfort when appendix-carrying this pistol.
Sig Sauer P320 M18 Fit-N-Finish
The M18 is built with a highly durable polymer grip module that is easily removed and replaced for cleaning, and the slide is factory-cerakoted in flat dark earth. The trigger pull on all P320 variants is incredibly smooth for a striker-fired pistol, and the M18 is no different. The frame includes magazine cuts along the bottom of the grip to aid the user in removing magazines that don’t drop free, and standard disassembly for cleaning is incredibly easy.
