stainless steel frame and slide of the STX are machined to exacting tolerances and hand-fitted to insure reliability and performance. The frame features 25-line per inch checkering on the front strap while the mainspring housing has 20-line per inch checkering and both the frame and slide are de-horned for comfortable full-size carry. Like all SIG SAUER products the 1911 STX pistol contains only premium internal parts including a match grade barrel, hammer/sear set and trigger. For safety the 1911 STX features a beavertail grip safety with speed bump, extended ambidextrous thumb safety, firing pin safety and hammer intercept notch. Sig Sauer 1911 Stx Capacity
The SIG Sauer 1911 STX is chambered in .45ACP and feeds from all standard 1911 magazines. This gives the gun standard capacities of 7 and 8 rounds depending on the manufacturer and the age of the magazine while larger 10 round magazines are also available. If using an extended magazine, be sure to use a spacer to avoid over-insertion and damaging the ejector.
Sig Sauer 1911 Stx Feature
The SIG Sauer 1911 STX takes the standard 1911 and refines every aspect in some way. Built with a 5 inch barrel on an 80-series frame, the STX operates on a polished Browning-style short-recoil action with a tilting barrel and fires from a single-action trigger pull. The slide is topped with iron sights that are adjustable for both windage and elevation allowing the user to be far more precise than they would be with the market’s go-to “fancy” 1911 brand.
Sig Sauer 1911 Stx Ergonomics
The SIG 1911 STX has identical controls with the inclusion of an ambidextrous safety. The grip panels are smooth with a glossy finish that provides a comfortable amount of grip while the front and back of the grip are cut with fine, aggressive checkering. The slide has serrations that flank the rear sight that provide an excellent amount of grip when manually cycling the action.
Sig Sauer 1911 Stx Concealability
The SIG 1911 STX is the same size as a standard full-size 1911 and though concealment is far from impossible, it is definitely difficult without the right choice in attire, smart placement and a good holster. That said, this gun was designed as a target pistol and not necessarily as a sidearm to be concealed.
Sig Sauer 1911 Stx Fit-N-Finish
The SIG STX is built almost entirely out of stainless steel components with its slide showing off a Nitron coating and its frame and small pieces presenting a matte finish. The slide serrations won’t rust due to the slide being stainless steel, so don’t worry there. The grip panels are made out of beautiful burled maple and are sealed with a durable clear coat.
