Ballistic Stats
Their short barrels and overall short length make them favorites in any application where maneuverability and ease of handling are priorities. Simple, rugged, Garand-style action with breech bolt locking system, a fixed-piston gas system and self-cleaning moving gas cylinder gives unparalleled reliability under harsh operating conditions. Cold hammer-forged barrel results in ultra-precise rifling that provides exceptional accuracy and longevity. Integral scope mounts, machined directly on the solid steel receiver, provide a stable mounting surface for included scope rings, eliminating a potential source

Ruger Mini-30 Capacity
The Ruger Mini-30 is chambered in 7.62x39mm and feeds from proprietary double-feed detachable magazines. Most of these rifles ship with one or two 5 round magazines, however 10 and 20 round mags are very easy to find. Factory-produced 30 round magazines are available to law enforcement only, however aftermarket 30 round magazines are one click away online.
Ruger Mini-30 Feature
The Ruger Mini-30 is a gas-operated, semi-automatic rifle that operates on an action very similar to the M1 Garand. Its 18 inch long barrel is ported to send gas through the gas block and into an operating rod which rotates and cycles the bolt. Its gas system has more in common with the M1 than the M14 due to its lack of a gas tappet. This rifle has undergone a design overhaul to fix accuracy issues.
Ruger Mini-30 Ergonomics
Whether it’s in a wood or composite stock, the Mini-30 offers a very traditional feel. Its stock contains a half-pistol grip behind the trigger, a slight drop along the comb heading towards the butt pad, and a forend that is very similar in feel, though scaled down, to the M14. The controls include a safety in front of the trigger guard, a magazine release that sits behind the mag, and a charging handle that rides along the right side of the receiver.
Ruger Mini-30 Mobility
Measuring 37.5 inches long and with an unloaded weight of 6.7 pounds with a composite stock and 7 pounds with a wood stock, the Mini-30 is easier to carry around than a typical Mil-Spec 16” AR15. The traditional stock prevents it from catching on foreign objects better than the AR as well. Its short height also makes shooting from a low position easier and allows the user to get closer to the ground.
Ruger Mini-30 Fit-N-Finish
The Mini-14 can be found with a composite or walnut stock and can be made of carbon steel with a black nitride finish or stainless steel with a matte finish. In both cases, the steel components are hardened to an incredible strength to increase durability and reliability. The Mini-series of rifles had its barrel redesigned to increase accuracy with the new profile beginning in the 580-series (first 3 digits in S/N are over 580). The Mini-30 cannot reliably fire imported steel-cased ammunition.
