Ruger LC Charger Features

The Ruger LC Charger is an excellent option for if you want an MP7 but don’t have an 02/07 FFL with a class III SOT.  This semi-automatic pistol is the little brother to the LC Carbine with its biggest differences including a shorter 10.3 inch barrel, a shorter M-Lok handguard and no stock.  This pistol operates on a direct-blowback action and has a full-length top rail for mounting any optical setup imaginable.

Ruger LC Charger Capacity

The Ruger LC Charger is chambered in 5.7x28mm (also known as “Spicy 22”) and feeds from the same double-feed magazines as the Ruger 57 and LC Carbine.  This gives the Charger a standard capacity of 20 rounds, though 10 round versions are easy to source in states with capacity restrictions.  Aftermarket suppliers also make a 30 round magazine.

With an unloaded weight just over 4 pounds and an overall length of 16 inches, the LC Charger is easily maneuvered through nearly any environment including the close-quarter spaces of a house.  This makes the LC Charger a reasonable choice for home defense with its easy two-handed grip and low recoil.

Ruger LC Charger Mobility

Ruger LC Charger Ergonomics

Ergonomics
The LC Charger has an identical grip to the Ruger 57 pistol and identical controls to the LC Carbine.  This pistol has an ambidextrous safety and a charging handle that is easily swapped between the left and right sides.  The handguard has a very rectangular cross section that surprisingly fits very well in the hands of most users.  Due to the small caliber this gun shoots, the recoil is similar to that of a typical .22 caliber pistol.

Ruger LC Charger Concealability

Concealability
While you won’t be shoving this gun down your pants and walking down the street without wearing pants baggy enough to make MC Hammer jealous, its small size does allow it to easily be tucked away next to a nightstand or underneath the seat of a car.
