This is the Ruger EC9S, a "New & Improved" version of the highly-successful LC9S pistol. The EC9S is a striker-fired semi-auto designed for the concealed carry market. It uses the same magazines as the LC9S, with the biggest obvious difference between the two beings the fact that the sights on the EC9S are machined directly into the slide. The EC9S has a slim, lightweight and compact design, with glare-reducing rear facing cocking serrations and a finger grip extension floorplate that can be added to the 7-round magazine for comfort and improved grip. Safety features include integrated trigger safety, manual safety, magazine disconnect and an inspection port that allows for visual confirmation of a loaded or empty chamber.   Specifications: Weight: 17.2 oz. Overall Length: 6" Rate-of-Twist: 1-in-10" RH Additional Information: Glass-Filled Nylon Frame Striker-Fired

Ruger EC9S Features

The Ruger EC9S is a semi-automatic striker-fired pistol that operates on a Browning-style short recoil action with a tilting barrel.  This pistol is built with a 3.12 inch barrel paired with non-adjustable fixed sights that are milled directly into the slide.  This pistol differs from the Ruger EC9 in the fact that it’s striker-fired, hence the S notation at the end of its name.

Ruger EC9S Capacity

The Ruger EC9S is chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum and feeds from a 7-round single-stack magazine.  These magazines are compatible with the standard Ruger EC9 magazines as the only difference between the two guns is in their fire control components.  Aftermarket magazine manufacturers offer flush-fit 6 round magazines as well as extended 7 and 10 round mags.

Ruger EC9S Ergonomics

Ergonomics
The Ruger EC9S is a small pistol by every metric.  Its grip with flush-fit magazines offers a 2-finger hold while its extended magazines offer enough real estate for a full-handed grip by most users.  The safety and slide release are small enough to stay out of the way but are large enough to be engaged with intent, and the slide includes wide serrations to offer extra grip when manually cycling the action against a rather heavy recoil spring.

Ruger EC9S Fit & Finish

The Ruger EC9S is offered in a wide range of color schemes with two choices in slide finish (black or stainless).  Since the frame is polymer, it can be made in just about any color imaginable.  As is the case with any Ruger product, the steel components are hardened to ensure protection from damage against weather and wear as well as to increase durability.

Ruger EC9S Concealability

Concealability
The EC9S measures approximately 6 inches long, 4.5 inches tall and measures less than 1 inch wide allowing it to easily be concealed just about anywhere.  Whether it’s in an ankle holster, tossed in a pocket, carried in a handbag or tucked inside your belt, this gun can be easily concealed in almost any choice of attire.  Just make sure you have a decent holster.
