Remington 870 Shotgun The Remington 870 has earned legendary status among gun aficionados. This is the perfect hunting gun, and there’s no question about that. The Remington 870 is arguably the very best pump-action shotgun that money can buy. I bet your dad or your grandpa has one in his collection. You can compare the Mossberg 500 and any other pump-action shotgun on the market with the Remington 870, and it is most likely going to come out on top. Although the

Remington 870 Feature
The Remington 870 is a pump-action shotgun chambered in 12 and 20 gauge with a 4-round fixed-tube magazine. There are many options for barrels with lengths from 18 to 36 inches, and furniture options that can be made of wood or can be composite. The Remington 870 is as customizable as the AR15 thanks to its highly-modular design.
Remington 870 Capacity
Available across 15 overall models, the Remington 870 is offered most commonly with 4 and 5 round magazine tubes, however capacities from 3 to 7 are all available off-the-shelf. Magazine extensions can be installed by a qualified gunsmith.
Remington 870 Ergonomics
Whether the Remington 870 is equipped with a traditional wood stock, a composite stock with a pistol grip, an adapter for a collapsing stock and grip from an AR15, or the handguard is replaced with one of those goofy chainsaw grips, the core controls of the Remington 870 are always in the same place. The slide release lever is always located along the front of the trigger guard, and the shells are always loaded the same way through the port in the bottom of the receiver.
Remington 870 Mobility
The Remington 870’s mobility can differ greatly depending on the specific model you buy. Different length barrels, telescoping or folding stocks, and other accessories can change the length and weight of a Remington 870 resulting in handling characteristics too diverse to quantify.
Remington 870 Fit-N-Finish
The Remington 870 was introduced to the market in 1950 and has had different finishes throughout the years. Receivers can be made of beautifully polished blued steel or made of an alloy the firearms industry calls “pot metal” while furniture can be cut from black walnut, laminate wood, or composite materials. Older models tend to show superior craftsmanship as the newer models are known to have unsightly proud wood and metal finishes that quickly rust and discolor due to Remington changing their finishing techniques
