Remington 7600 Capacity

The Remington 7600 was designed to replace the Remington 76 originally made in the early 1900’s.  Designed off of the Remington 870 action, the Remington 7600 ignores the magazine tube and opts for a detachable box magazine to avoid chain firing.  The 7600’s magazine has a capacity of 4 rounds.

Remington 7600 Feature

The Remington 7600 is a pump-action rifle modeled after the Remington 870 pump-action shotgun.  It uses a 4-round detachable box magazine and is chambered in a few different full-power rifle calibers.  Its rear sight is fully adjustable and the receiver is drilled and tapped at the factory to accept a scope rail.

Remington 7600 Ergonomics

The Remington 7600 directly copies all of the ergonomics of the 870 shotgun while only slightly changing the controls.  Due to its use of a detachable box magazine, the pump-action release lever is moved to the left side of the trigger guard while the magazine release takes its place on the right side.  Aside from that change, all of the other controls are identical to that of the 870.

Remington 7600 Mobility

Measuring just under 43 inches long with a weight of 7.5 pounds, the Remington 7600 is easy to carry across open terrain, though its length may make it difficult while traversing dense vegetation.  Copying the profile of the Remington 870 shotgun, the Remington 7600 exhibits very similar handling characteristics.

Remington 7600 Fit-N-Finish

The Remington 7600 entered production in 1987 and their build quality back then was great.  As the years went on, different materials were used and cheaper finishing processes were applied giving the newer examples less resistance to weather and wear.  Wood finishing processes were changed as well, giving some examples a lackluster appearance.  Luckily, if you get ugly wood, the Remington 7600 has furniture compatibility with the 870.
