Remington 1911 R1 Capacity
The Remington 1911 R1 is chambered in .45 ACP and accepts all 1911A1 pattern magazines. These single-stack magazines made of stamped steel offer capacities of 7 and 8 rounds making it ready to compete in the runnings to be a 3-time world war champion winner.
Remington 1911 R1 Feature
The Remington 1911 R1 is an 80-series 1911 with a 5 inch government-length barrel. Just like the classic, it operates on John Browning’s short-recoil operated tilting-barrel action and fires from a single-action trigger pull. The steel frame lacks an accessory rail keeping the design sleek and smooth with no excessive frills, further maintaining tradition with its vertical rear slide serrations.
Remington 1911 R1 Ergonomics
If you’ve fired a 1911 before, then there is nothing new to the R1 aside from the honed trigger that provides a very smooth pull. The grips are checkered to provide excellent control when firing without causing discomfort or rashes when carrying. The fire controls are set up for right-handed use and the front of the grip is smooth while the back has the classic vertical cuts.
Remington 1911 R1 Concealability
The Remington R1 is identical in overall size to every other 1911 making it difficult to conceal without the proper attire, holster and placement. Special care needs to be taken when choosing where to place a holster as the grip safety and exposed hammer can cause discomfort in some positions.
Remington 1911 R1 Fit-N-Finish
The Remington R1 is made entirely out of stainless steel components aside from the grip and springs and is finished with a satin / matte surface. The locking lugs inside the slide and on the barrel are polished, as is the feed ramp, and the barrel is machined with a “half-thousandth” tool step on its final pass giving it a smooth enough surface to ensure reliability while also providing a good enough surface to retain oil.
