Marlin 781 Capacity
The Marlin Model 781 is chambered for .22LR and can also cycle and chamber .22 Short cartridges. The 781 is fed from a fixed tube magazine and holds up to 17 rounds of .22LR and up to 24 rounds of .22Short. Rounds are loaded into the magazine by removing the brass inner magazine tube and dropping rounds through the loading port in the steel outer magazine tube.
Marlin 781 Feature
The Marlin Model 781 is a bolt-action rifle chambered in .22LR and is fed from a fixed tube magazine. It is built with a 22 inch barrel that is topped with a hooded front sight and an elevation-adjustable rear sight leaf. The receiver includes a ⅜ inch dovetail cut for mounting scopes.
Marlin 781 Ergonomics
The Marlin 781 is built on a walnut Monte-Carlo style stock with checkering on the grip and forend that are more decorative than they are functional. The bolt handle sits slightly forward of the trigger and the safety is located along the right side of the receiver directly over the trigger.
Marlin 781 Mobility
The Marlin 781 measures 42 inches long with an unloaded weight around 5 pounds making it very easy to carry through any outdoor environment. Its lack of protruding contours prevents it from catching on dense vegetation when out squirrel hunting and its light weight allows it to safely be handled by younger users.
Marlin 781 Fit-N-Finish
The Marlin 781 is an incredibly easy gun to use thanks to its simple controls and light weight. Its action is incredibly smooth when kept clean and its trigger has a very light and crisp pull. The comb on the stock provides a very comfortable cheek weld when using the iron sights. The walnut stock pairs well with the deep bluing of the steel components and its stainless-steel bolt adds some shine to the classic look.
