Marlin 60SB Features

The Marlin 60 SB is a semi-automatic .22 caliber rifle that operates on a direct-blowback action.  This rifle was introduced as a direct competitor to the Ruger 10/22 and has held its own in the market.  It is built with a 19 inch barrel topped with a hooded front sight and an elevation-adjustable rear sight leaf.  The receiver is drilled and tapped in order to accept an optics rail that allows you to mount a magnified scope, red dot or other sight system.

Marlin 60SB Capacity

The Marlin 60 SB is chambered in .22LR and feeds from a fixed tube-style magazine with a current standard capacity of 14 rounds.  Earlier models are known to hold 15, 17 and even 19 rounds, though that has been reduced to accommodate a more reliable spring.  Rounds are loaded into the tube by removing the inner brass tube and dropping rounds into the tube through the bullet-shaped cutout.
Weighing 5.5 pounds with an overall length of either 37.5 or 40.5 inches (depending on the barrel length), the Marlin 60 SB is one of the easiest semi-automatic .22 caliber rifles to carry around.  Whether you’re taking your kids out to the back yard to plink at soda cans or you’re walking through the woods on a squirrel hunt, this rifle is easy to carry.

Marlin 60SB Ergonomics

Ergonomics
The Marlin 60 SB is built on a monte-carlo style stock with a half-pistol grip and an integral cheek comb.  The forend of the stock is rather small to allow for a comfortable grip by smaller users and a useable grip for adult users.  The controls are identical to other Marlin 60 models and include a safety mounted behind the trigger and a reciprocating charging handle connected to the right side of the bolt.

Marlin 60SB Fit & Finish

The Marlin 60 SB is built on a walnut stock sealed with a matte clear coat and the trigger guard is made of a high-strength polymer.  The receiver, barrel and bolt are made of stainless steel in order to prevent those pieces from rusting due to rain or the humidity in the air.
