Marlin 336 Classic Features

The Marlin 336 Classic is a faithful reproduction of the classic Model 336W and is manufactured by Ruger with tighter tolerances for better performance and accuracy.  This lever-action rifle is built with a 20-inch barrel topped with a hooded front sight and a windage- and elevation-adjustable rear sight.  The receiver is also drilled and tapped to accept a scope rail for mounting optics.

Marlin 336 Classic Capacity

The Marlin 336 Classic is chambered in .30-30 Winchester and feeds from a 6-round tube magazine that sits under the barrel.  Rounds are loaded directly into the magazine tube through the loading gate in the right side of the receiver under the ejection port.  Rounds can also be “breech loaded” by throwing the lever and inserting a round directly into the chamber.

The 336 Classic measures 38.5 inches long and has an unloaded weight of 7.5 pounds allowing it to easily be carried over long durations through any outdoor environment.  Its overall lack of protruding features does well to prevent dense vegetation from getting tangled in the rifle making it an excellent choice as a deer rifle.

Marlin 336 Classic Ergonomics

Ergonomics
The 336 Classic is built with the same ergonomics as the original.  Its handguard has deep checkering cut into it as does its half-pistol grip.  The action lever is cut to a standard size which can cause some difficulty when wearing gloves.  The cross-bar safety is located on either side of the receiver between the hammer and the trigger.

Marlin 336 Classic Fit & Finish

Aside from the stainless steel bolt, gold trigger and a handful of stainless steel internal components, the Marlin 336 Classic is made of incredibly hard blued steel to prevent damage from weather, wear and scratches.  The stock and forend are cut from American Black Walnut and are sealed with a matte finish to give it that classic, timeless look as well as ensure durability.
