Magnum Research Desert Eagle Mark Xix Capacity
The Magnum Research Desert Eagle is currently chambered in .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum, .50 Action Express and .429 Desert Eagle. It feeds from a single-stack magazine and has a capacity of 9 rounds in .357, 8 rounds in .44, and 7 rounds in .429DE and .50AE. All magazines include a last-round bolt-hold-open feature that locks the slide to the rear on an empty magazine.
Magnum Research Desert Eagle Mark Xix Feature
The Desert Eagle is a gas-operated, semi-automatic, magnum-caliber handgun that allows the user to quite easily change calibers. This hand-cannon is built with a 6 inch barrel with a MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny optics rail cut into it for long-eye-relief optics along with windage-adjustable iron sights. The Desert Eagle’s gas system operates on a long-stroke piston mounted to the front of the slide and an AR15 inspired rotating bolt behind the barrel.
Magnum Research Desert Eagle Mark Xix Ergonomics
The Desert Eagle has an incredibly large pistol grip with Hogue grip panels to provide maximum control in an effort to tame the recoil of this hard-hitting pistol. While this gun has a relatively light trigger pull, everything else about the gun is heavy from its recoil springs to its recoil and to its overall weight. The safety, slide release and even the magazine release require deliberate force to manipulate. The trigger is light and rather smooth with a short take-up that has a very similar feel to a decent Mil-Spec AR15 trigger.
Magnum Research Desert Eagle Mark Xix Mobility
The Desert Eagle has an unloaded weight of 4.5 pounds and measures almost 11 inches long. Carrying this chonky beast on your hip over long periods of time can definitely cause discomfort while its 6 inch barrel requires extra travel distance to clear a holster. Its weight and recoil definitely cause an increase in the time it takes to engage multiple targets.
Magnum Research Desert Eagle Mark Xix Concealability
The Desert Eagle measures almost 11 inches long, a touch over 6 inches tall and has a width around an inch and a half. Outside of using a shoulder holster under a large jacket, concealing a Desert Eagle is extremely difficult and nearly impossible no matter your choice of attire. This gun is most easily carried in a holster on a belt in an open-carry setup.
