Magnum Research 1911s chambered in .45 ACP all have a traditional feed ramp machined into the frame. Only the 1911G models have a traditional barrel bushing in the slide. The 1911C and U models feature a bushingless slide and bull barrel. Magnum Research Desert Eagle 1911 Capacity
The Desert Eagle 1911 is chambered in .45ACP and feeds from standard 1911A1 magazines. This gives the DE1911 a standard capacity of 7 and 8 rounds depending on the company that made the magazine, and allows the user to buy off-the-shelf magazines instead of ordering some proprietary, hand-fit magazine from another country.
Magnum Research Desert Eagle 1911 Feature
The Magnum Research Desert Eagle 1911 is an Israeli-made pistol modeled after the 70-series Colt 1911. It uses the same Browning-designed short recoil action with a tilting 5 inch barrel and fires from a single-action trigger pull. The sights are windage-adjustable and the feed ramps are polished to ensure proper feeding with any bullet type.
Magnum Research Desert Eagle 1911 Ergonomics
This 1911 has an identical control layout to other 1911’s and has a right-handed safety selector. The front of the grip is checkered with pyramid-style texturing and the grip panels have a stippled and grooved texture. Slide serrations flank both the front and rear sights and are deep and wide enough to give the user a positive grip when manually cycling the action.
Magnum Research Desert Eagle 1911 Concealability
Concealment of the DE1911 is a tall order, but it is possible. Measuring almost 8 inches long and 5.5 inches tall, concealment would require a good holster, smart placement, and the employment of larger and longer clothing. Wearing an undershirt is also a good idea as the grip texturing, the grip safety and the exposed hammer can cause considerable discomfort when carrying in certain positions.
Magnum Research Desert Eagle 1911 Fit-N-Finish
The Desert Eagle 1911 is built on a steel frame that is hand-fitted to the slide. The frame and slide can come in black, stainless, or a combo of the two while all of the barrels and triggers are stainless steel. The 5” models take down identically to the classic OG 1911 while the 4” models require the use of a special disassembly tool.
