Made by the Robinson Armament Co., the M96 can be arranged in a variety configurations from a standard rifle with a 20' barrel, to a carbine with a 16" barrel or even a top-fed carbine with a 17.5" barrel. M96 is a gas operated semiautomatic sporting rifle. Introduced in 1999, the Robinson M96 uses a modular design allowing for alterations in caliber, barrel

length and other aspects of configuration. Adjustable post front and flip-up peep rear sights with an 11 inch Picatinny rail on the upper receiver, 3-vent muzzle brake, hand adjustable gas system, STANAG magazine well, ribbed forearm and smooth pistol grip stock. With a black nylon sling, manual and one 30 round polymer magazine. This rifle and gas system was actually developed by Alex Robinson in 2003/04 in response to a Government solicitation for the SCAR rifle. It is a combination of the M16 bolt that combines the reliability of the AK47 rifle style gas-piston with a fully adjustable gas regulator similar to the FN-FAL rifle. The original Robinson Armament Company was only in business for a very short time, so the original rifles are extremely rare with a very limited production. The M96 has been offered in a 20" barrel rifle version (the "Expeditionary Rifle"), a 17.5" barreled carbine (no special name), a 16" barreled carbine (the "Recon Carbine"), and a 17.5" barreled top-feed carbine ("Bren" configuration).Robinson Armament M96 Recon Carbine For Sale
