the butt, checkered black plastic grips marked "MANUFRANCE", "SAINT-ETIENNE" and "MF" in a circle. - The Series of "Le Francais" pistols was manufactured from 1914 by the French company Manufacture Française d’Armes et de Cycles de Saint-Étienne, which was later renamed to Manufrance.
