Kel-Tec Plr-22 Capacity
The PLR-22 is chambered in .22LR and feeds from a proprietary 26 round AR15-esque magazine. 10 round mags do exist, but they’re incredibly rare and are completely counterintuitive to the point of the gun. This pistol has no trouble feeding every bullet type available in .22LR, but it runs most reliably with 40gr standard velocity rounds.
Kel-Tec Plr-22 Feature
The Kel-Tec PLR-22 is a .22 caliber pistol version of the PLR-16 series .223 caliber rifles made by the same acid-fueled design team that brought you the KSG-12. The PLR-22 operates on a direct-blowback action and is built with a 10.2 inch barrel that offers a decent muzzle velocity for a pistol. The gun is topped with windage-adjustable iron sights as well as an integral Picatinny rail in case you want to mount a red dot sight.
Kel-Tec Plr-22 Ergonomics
The PLR-22 has the same control layout as its intermediate-caliber brothers including a cross-bar safety, an AR15 inspired magazine release, a pistol grip that is surprisingly thin, and a reciprocating charging handle. There is no designated spot to hold the gun with a support hand, so it might be smart to learn to shoot this thing as if it were a standard pistol with both hands wrapped around the pistol grip.
Kel-Tec Plr-22 Fit-N-Finish
The PLR-22 is made largely out of recycled beach plastic and has a trigger that feels like they didn’t shake the sand out. This plastic is surprisingly durable, though. Disassembly is simple like the rifle versions of this gun which is a nice change of pace over a lot of other .22 caliber pistols on the market. It’s easy to design something complex, but it’s hard to design something simple.
