Shipped with a 7 round single-stack, flush-fit magazine, the Kel-Tec PF-9 is also able to accept 7 round magazines with extended floor plates for a better grip or 8 round magazines built with a +1 round extension.
Kel-Tec Pf-9 Feature
The now discontinued Kel-Tec PF9 is a sub-compact polymer framed pistol chambered in 9mm. It has a 3.4 inch barrel and a trigger with an impressively light 5 pound pull. The 7 round capacity puts it on par with other sub-compact pistols on the market.
Kel-Tec Pf-9 Ergonomics
The Kel-Tec PF-9 is a very small 9mm pistol. Even with an extended floor plate on the magazine, getting more than 2 fingers to wrap around the grip is not possible for many users. With a width of only .88 inches (7/8ths of an inch), this pistol may be uncomfortable to shoot. The controls are very low-profile and can be difficult to engage, and the square grip texturing does little to assist the user in controlling the recoil.
Kel-Tec Pf-9 Concealability
The Kel-Tec PF-9 was clearly designed to be concealable. With a height of only 4.3 inches and a width of .88 inches, the PF-9 is incredibly easy to conceal just about anywhere such as in a handbag, inside the belt, in a shoulder holster, or even in an ankle holster. The low-profile controls and the contours of the slide and frame allow the pistol to be drawn from a holster while minimizing interference from clothing or other objects.
Kel-Tec Pf-9 Fit-N-Finish
The Kel-Tec PF-9 is a pistol with a unique look, although everything Kel-Tec makes looks unique. The screwed-on extractor is a bit of an eyesore for some while the square texturing pattern on the grip looks to be more of an aesthetic choice over a functional one. All of the parts are well machined and coated, and the long 5-pound trigger pull of this double-action pistol definitely place it in high regard compared to other micro-compact 9mm pistols on the market.
