Jts M12Ar Shotgun Capacity
The JTS M12AR is chambered in 12 gauge and feeds from a standardized magazine designed to fit in an AR10 receiver. These magazines have a typical capacity of 5 rounds, though larger 10 round magazines can be found if you know where to look, and you can even get 20 round drum magazines. The M12AR has a 3 inch chamber allowing the user to fire everything except for magnum shells. Due to the design of the gun, the “mini shells” can be single-loaded but they won’t cycle from the magazine.
Jts M12Ar Shotgun Feature
The JTS M12AR is a semi-automatic, AR10 style shotgun that operates on a short-stroke gas piston with a multi-lug rotating bolt action. This shotgun is built with an 18.5 inch barrel that is paired with an adjustable gas system that allows you to dial in the gas pressure to balance your cycle speed with the loads you’re running. The barrel is covered by a 10 inch free-floating handguard that keeps your hand away from the barrel which really helps if the barrel gets hot.
Jts M12Ar Shotgun Ergonomics
The JTS M12AR has identical controls to the AR15 and AR10 with the only difference being the looooong charging handle throw. Aside from that, if you’ve picked up an AR pattern rifle before, then you already know where all of the controls are. This shotgun is shipped from the factory with a Mil-Spec fiberglass pistol grip which can and should be switched out for something better.
Jts M12Ar Shotgun Mobility
Measuring 38 inches long with an unloaded weight of 8.6 pounds, the JTS M12AR is approximately as easy to carry around as a typical AR10. It’s definitely on the heavy side for a shotgun with most weighing just north of 7 pounds, however this added weight does help to soften the felt recoil. Its overall length is actually on-par with most tactical shotguns on the market and it measures only a few inches longer than a typical 16” AR15.
Jts M12Ar Shotgun Fit-N-Finish
The JTS M12AR is built on billet aluminum receivers and has a lot of parts compatibility with AR platform rifles. The unique interior geometry and the cost-effective manufacturing do require special care when it comes to maintenance. Once you get one of these, remove ALL of the packing oil and use some full-synthetic 5W-20 as a lubricant as other oils will evaporate or congeal. Combining that with the weight and viscosity of the oil, any other oil may cause malfunctions.
