Hi-Point Yeet Cannon (YC9) Features

The Hi-Point YC-9 “Yeet Cannon” is an alloy-framed, striker-fired, semi-automatic pistol that operates on a direct blowback action with a fixed 4.12 inch barrel.  They also make a version of this gun that has a threaded 4.5 inch barrel in case you want to mount a suppressor or want a little bit more muzzle velocity.  This pistol is also available with an optics-ready slide in case you want to mount a red dot sight so you can still aim when you’re holding it sideways.

Hi-Point Yeet Cannon (YC9) Capacity

The Yeet Cannon is chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum (9mm Luger, 9x19mm NATO, “Nine-Mill”) and feeds from a proprietary double-stack, single feed magazine that holds 10 rounds.  Currently, there are no extended magazines on the aftermarket, but that’s only a matter of time.  The Yeet Cannon was the first Hi-Point to use a double-stack magazine instead of being stuck with a single-stack 8 round magazine, though the 10 round standard capacity does keep the pistol 50-state legal.

Hi-Point Yeet Cannon (YC9) Ergonomics

Ergonomics
Unlike Hi-Points of yesteryear, the Yeet Cannon has reasonably decent ergonomics, even though it’s still bulky like its older brothers.  The grip is more contoured to fit better in your hand, and the slide has new geometry that includes finger grooves that actually offer a decent amount of grip when you’re manually cycling the action.  The recoil on these guns is a bit snappy compared to a 9mm pistol with the same weight, and this is due to the slide mass required for a direct-blowback action.

Hi-Point Yeet Cannon (YC9) Fit & Finish

The Yeet Cannon is built with the same materials as the OG and has the same surface finish and tolerances, but “Yeet Cannon” is laser engraved on the left face of the slide and the geometry is different, so it’s clearly better than the original.  Let’s see how long it takes for Demo Ranch to shoot one of these to see if it’ll still work like he did with the last one.

Hi-Point Yeet Cannon (YC9) Concealability

Concealability
Just like its predecessor, the Yeet Cannon is a chonky boy to say the least.  The only place that you can realistically conceal this pistol is underneath the seat of your car since it’s probably too big to fit in the glove box.
