With a design based on simplicity, the Henry® Single-Shot Rifle provides shooters with an ultrareliable, centerfire rifle that's high on quality and performance. The Henry Single Shot utilizes a single hinge pin and an opening lever located on the upper frame. The external, rebounding hammer functions as the safety, and cannot touch the firing pin unless the trigger is pulled fully to the rear. A non-ejecting extractor places the cartridge where it can be easily removed by hand. A dovetailed, brass-bead front sight and an adjustable, folding rear sight allow precise shot placement, and the barrel is drilled and tapped for attaching a scope mount. The steel receiver and barrel have a matte-blued finish. The buttstock and fore-end are made of oil-finished walnut and feature cut checkering; the buttstock comes with a solid-rubber recoil pad. The Henry Single-Shot Rifle easily disassembles into 2 pieces for transport by removing the hinge pin, without removing the fore-end.

Henry Single Shot Ergonomics

Ergonomics
The brass versions of the Henry Single Shot rifle are built with a straight-grip stock while the steel versions are built with a half-pistol grip stock.  Both are opened by rotating the barrel release lever that sits on the top of the grip tang, and the hammer must be retracted manually before firing.

Henry Single Shot Fit & Finish

On both versions of the Single Shot, all steel components are blued to prevent damage from weather and wear, preventing rust and corrosion.  Brass-framed guns are made with naval hard brass and are polished to a mirror finish.  Coat it with some wax or something to keep your fingerprints from ruining the look.  The wood stock and handguard are sealed with a matte sealer.
