Henry U.s Survival Ar-7 Capacity
The AR-7 is chambered in .22LR and feeds from a single-stack magazine that is proprietary to this model. These rifles, if bought new, come with two magazines in the box. The internal geometry of this rifle, most notably its feed ramps, help ensure that you can fire any bullet type whether it’s hollow points or ball ammo, but this rifle performs most reliably with 40gr standard velocity ammo.
Henry U.s Survival Ar-7 Feature
The Henry US Survival AR-7 is a semi-automatic takedown-style rifle that operates on a direct-blowback action. Its biggest selling point aside from being a reliable plinking rifle comes from its ability to be taken apart and easily stored. This rifle has a 16.13 inch barrel that screws into the receiver by hand and has an unloaded weight of only 4.5 pounds. Also, if the stock is sealed, it will float.
Henry U.s Survival Ar-7 Ergonomics
The AR-7 has very straight-forward controls that include a reciprocating charging handle and a magazine release inside the trigger guard. The stock includes a half-pistol grip and there is no front handguard, so it’s best to hold it by the magazine well. It’s important to note that the bore axis sits offset from the center of the stock, so shouldering it may seem a bit awkward at first.
Henry U.s Survival Ar-7 Mobility
The AR-7 can be taken apart where the stock acts as a storage compartment for the barrel, receiver and magazines. This allows you to toss it into a hiking pack and conveniently carry it through the woods with little to no trouble. The only downside to this is the inability to re-mount any optics without having to re-zero them after reassembly.
Henry U.s Survival Ar-7 Fit-N-Finish
The AR-7 has a steel barrel wrapped in ABS plastic to reduce damage from impacts and environmental sources while the receiver is made of steel with a blued finish. The stock is made of ABS plastic and is filled with foam to keep you from losing it in a boating accident. This rifle has been around a while, and Henry has begun adding some camo patterns to their models in case you don’t want a standard black rifle.
