HECKLER & KOCH USA USC Carbine Rifle The USC is a civilian utility carbine that uses the classic hard hitting .45 ACP cartridge. Extensive use of the same polymers used on HKs line of military and police arms ensures light weight and durability. And the highest grade of weapons steel is used in the cold hammer forged target barrel, and bolt mechanism. The skeletonized buttstock is topped with a comfortable rubber cheek rest and recoil pad. Hard points located on the top and front of the receiver make attachment of optional Picatinny rails easy. HK USC Features

The HK USC is a semi-auto-only version of the HK UMP that is set up to comply with US import laws.  It is built with a 16 inch barrel without a threaded muzzle and operates on a direct-blowback action.  Its iron sights are paired with a MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail large enough to accommodate most common modern optics.

HK USC Capacity

The HK USC is chambered in .45ACP and feeds from polymer double-stack, double-feed detachable box magazines.  These mags are the same used in the HK UMP making the standard capacity 25 rounds.  10 round magazines do exist for users who live in states with capacity restrictions.

Measuring approximately 35.5 inches long with an unloaded weight of 6.13 pounds, the USC offers similar handling and mobility as a typical AR15 with a lighter weight making it easier to carry over long durations.  The recoil does cause the gun to bounce around much more than an AR, MP5 or even a Thompson SMG, and this is due to the direct blowback action.

HK USC Ergonomics

Ergonomics
Yes, you can do the HK slap on this gun.  The USC is built with a fixed thumbhole stock that has an incorporated pistol grip that has identical ergonomics to modern MP5 grips.  The front handguard is drilled and tapped to accommodate extra picatinny rails and has a rounded profile.  Though the safety selector is ambidextrous along with the magazine release, the charging handle and bolt release are not.

HK USC Fit & Finish

The HK USC is built on injection-molded polymer receivers in order to reduce the overall weight and also to keep the manufacturing costs down.  This is because the UMP, upon which the USC is based, was designed to be a low-cost alternative to the MP5 for export to police and military units in nations that didn’t have a large enough defense budget to justify buying MP5’s.
