Modification trigger system combines the advantages of a cocked striker component (constant level of trigger pull from first to last round fired) with a double-action hammer system. Developed especially for a U.S. government agency, the Law Enforcement Modification (or LEM for short), is a unique trigger mechanism created specifically to improve the trigger performance and reduce the weight of the Double-Action Only (DAO) trigger pull on HK pistols. With this mechanism, HK pistols can be fired like a standard DAO semi-automatic pistol where every round is fired by simply pulling the trigger fully rearward with the hammer starting at the forward rest position. The design of the proprietary HK LEM system allows the weight of the DAO trigger pull to be reduced to a smooth and constant 6.18 - 8.5 pounds (27.5 - 37.8 N) because the two-part hammer is pre-cocked every time the slide moves rearward. Trigger pull on conventional double action pistols is 12 - 15 pounds (53.4 - 66.7N). The unique LEM pre-cocked hammer system combines the advantages of a cocked striker component (constant level of trigger pull and short trigger travel from first to last round fired) with a double action hammer system. Optional adjustment (by HK certified armorer) can bring the trigger pull into the 5.5 pound (24.5 N) range. Hk P2000 Capacity
The HK P2000 is chambered for either 9x19mm Parabellum (9mm Luger, NATO) and .40 S&W. For both calibers, magazines limited to 10 rounds are available for users in states with silly gun laws, however standard capacities are 12 rounds for the .40 caliber versions and 13 rounds for the 9mm versions.
Hk P2000 Feature
The HK P2000 is a polymer-framed semi-automatic pistol that operates on a Browning-style short recoil action with a 3.66 inch tilting barrel and can be fired from either a single- or double-action trigger pull with the cycling of the slide resetting the hammer into single action after firing. A de-cocking button sits on the back of the frame just below the slide allowing the user to drop the hammer into double-action without having to touch the trigger.
Hk P2000 Ergonomics
The HK P2000 is built with fully-ambidextrous controls including the paddle-style magazine release and slide release. The grip includes aggressive texturing on the front and back sides for a positive hold while the back of the grip is designed to accept removable back straps that allow the user to tailor the contours of the grip to their hand. There are deep slide serrations along the back of the slide flanking the rear sight that allow the user to easily cycle the action even while wearing gloves or while their hands are wet.
Hk P2000 Concealability
Measuring almost 7 inches long, just over 5 inches tall and with a width of 1.37 inches, concealment of the HK P2000 would require a proper holster, smart placement and the proper choice of attire. The easiest clothing to wear to properly conceal a gun as wide and as large as this would be a longer shirt that is a size larger than what you would normally wear or clothing that is more commonly worn in colder weather.
