H&R 1871 Pardner Capacity

The Pardner is chambered in 12 gauge and has a barrel cut with a 3 inch chamber.  This shotgun is fed by a fixed 5 round tube magazine that can hold up to five shells of 2.75 and 3 inch loads and 8 rounds of the mini shells.  Note: you will need a spacer for a Remington 870 to reliably feed the mini shells without inducing malfunctions.

H&R 1871 Pardner Feature

The H&R Pardner is a pump-action shotgun that was produced in China as a copy of the Remington 870.  In fact, it has almost 100% parts compatibility with the 870.  Typically, you’ll find a Pardner with an 18.5 inch security barrel that has a 3 inch chamber and an improved cylinder bore.

H&R 1871 Pardner Ergonomics

The H&R Pardner Pump has identical controls and an identical feel to the Remington 870.  After all, it is a Chinese rip-off.  The only difference you’ll find between the two is in the trigger and the cycling of the action where the Pardner has far rougher surface finishes that give you a very gritty and cheap feel instead of a smooth, or at least acceptable, feel from an 870.

H&R 1871 Pardner Mobility

The Pardner measures approximately 38 inches long when equipped with an 18.5 inch barrel and has an unloaded weight of 7.5 pounds making it just as easy to carry and maneuver with as a Remington 870 or a typical off-the-shelf AR15.  The lack of protruding edges also helps prevent it from getting caught on such objects as heavy brush or dense foliage.

H&R 1871 Pardner Fit-N-Finish

While the manufacturing quality of the Pardner is severely lacking, it does have two advantages.  This gun is designed to accept all of the aftermarket components that fit on a standard Remington 870.  This gun is also built on a steel receiver that is far more durable than the “pot metal” alloy that is used on 870s.
