Ballistic Stats
This new pistol was announced as part of an $85 million dollar contract signed with the CBP which will see the largest federal law enforcement agency under the Department of Homeland Security shed its current standard sidearm, Heckler & Koch’s P2000 in .40 S&W, for a trio of Glock pistols chambered for the 9x19 mm Parabellum round. Officially designated the Glock 47 (or G47), the gun is a functional blend of a few of Glock’s other products which the company hopes will

give CBP agents a distinct advantage when in the field, should they need to draw and fire their weapons.
The G47 uses a 4.5-inch barrel, the same used on the company’s first full-sized pistol, the Glock 17. It can feed from a standard G17 double-stacked magazine with a capacity of 17 rounds, or from G19X, G34, and G45 magazines should the need arise.Glock 47 For Sale

Glock 47 Capacity
The Glock 47 is chambered in 9x19mm Luger and feeds from full-size Glock magazines. This gives this Glock a standard capacity of 17 rounds in most states, and a capacity of 10 rounds in those with magazine restrictions. This also allows for the use of the extended 32 round magazines.
Glock 47 Feature
The Glock 47 is most easily explained as having a Glock 19X frame (17 height, 19 length) and a Glock 17 slide that has been re-designed to use a Glock 19 recoil spring. This allows the user to easily switch between using a 4.02 or 4.49 inch barrel by only having to swap out the slide and barrel. The rest of the gun uses standard Gen5 engineering.
Glock 47 Ergonomics
The Glock 47 is only available under Gen5 production and has all of the design elements on full display. The full-size grip lacks any finger grooves and instead uses Gen5 texturing which provides plenty of grip without causing discomfort. The slide has front and rear serrations to aid in manually cycling the action, and the magazine release is reversible to accommodate left handed users.
Glock 47 Concealability
Measuring just shy of 8 inches long with a height of 5.5 inches and a width of 1.3 inches, the Glock 47 is not easily concealable. Having been developed for law enforcement along America’s southern border where agents almost always open carry during their shifts, the Glock 47 makes no attempt at concealability. It is possible, however, with a shoulder holster and a jacket.
Glock 47 Fit-N-Finish
The Glock 47 differs from other Glock pistols in its slide. In order to use the shorter Glock 19 recoil spring, the slide was given more bulk along the front to form a sort of tube for the recoil spring to sit. This tube is long enough to compensate for the shorter recoil spring as well as bridge the gap between the front of the slide and the front of the shorter frame.
