Fn Five-Seven Capacity
Designed to fire the bottlenecked 5.7x28mm cartridge, the FN Five-seveN ships with two 10 round magazines in the lame states and ships with standard capacity 20 round magazines where the cool kids hang out. Aftermarket manufacturers also offer magazines with a 30 round capacity.
Fn Five-Seven Feature
The FN Five-seveN (Do you see what they did there?) is a semi-automatic pistol chambered in 5.7x28mm and has a standard magazine capacity of 20 rounds. The safety is mounted above the trigger as opposed to a more common thumb safety. It has a 4.75 inch barrel and a fully-adjustable rear sight.
Fn Five-Seven Ergonomics
FN went all-out when designing the Five-seveN pistol. The grip includes FN’s iconic pyramid texturing while adding slide serrations to the front and back of the slide. The polymer frame and polymer-covered slide weren’t the only early-nineties innovations used. The safety selector was moved to be actuated by the trigger finger instead of the user’s thumb and sits along the frame above the trigger. The grip is incredibly large compared to other pistols due to the length of the 5.7x28mm cartridge. The grip angle itself is also noticeably more vertical than other handguns. The magazine release is reversible for left and right handed shooters, and the slide lock is fenced to prevent unintended manipulation.
Fn Five-Seven Concealability
Due to the length of the 5.7mm cartridge requiring greater slide length to reliably feed new rounds and the magazines holding 20 rounds in a double-feed magazine, this handgun is big. Measuring 8.2 inches long and 5.7 inches tall, this gun is difficult to conceal inside your waistline. More appropriate for a shoulder holster or an open carry situation, the FN Five-seveN definitely put capacity and performance over concealability
Fn Five-Seven Fit-N-Finish
The FN Five-seveN has a polymer frame and polymer covered slide to prevent moisture from damaging the internal steel parts. The recoil spring is incredibly light compared to 9mm and .45 caliber handguns, and the controls are very easy to use yet still being considered low-profile.
