The CZ 97 B is chambered in .45 ACP and feeds from a double-stack, single-feed magazine. With this gun, there’s no need to worry about capacity restrictions if you’re living in a ban-state because the standard magazine capacity is only 10 rounds.
Cz 97 B Feature
The CZ 97 B is an aluminum-framed full size semi-automatic pistol that operates on a Browning-inspired short recoil action with a tilting 4.65 inch barrel. This pistol fires from either a double- or single-action trigger pull and has a unique design feature where the frame and slide rails are inverted contrary to common design. This design provides more surface contact between the two to offer a smoother action as well as prevent dust, sand, dirt and other objects from entering the action.
Cz 97 B Ergonomics
The CZ 97 B is built with right-handed controls and the magazine release is non-reversible. The grip contours match rather closely with the classic Browning Hi-Power though the grip panels are milled from aluminum and have an interesting radial checkering that becomes finer as you move forward on the panel. The double-action trigger pull is long and heavy but incredibly smooth and the single-action pull is very crisp with a very short takeup.
Cz 97 B Concealability
Attempting to carry a CZ 97 B in a concealed setup would be very difficult. Aside from its length of 8.3 inches, a height of 5.5 inches and a width of 1.4 inches causing the gun to easily be seen through even the baggiest clothing, the tall rear sight, the exposed hammer and the rather sharp grip tang can easily cause discomfort, especially if you aren’t wearing an undershirt.
Cz 97 B Fit-N-Finish
The CZ 97 B took many, if not all, design cues from the classic CZ75 and changed some numbers around to allow a .45 caliber chambering. This places the gun on equal quality with the 75. The slide is blued to retain surface oil and prevent rust while the frame is anodized to prevent corrosion. The trigger is machined from stainless steel so that won’t rust either.
