Colt CM901 Features

The Colt CM901 is a multi-caliber select-fire rifle that is designed off of both the AR10 and AR15 rifles.  It operates on the classic internal-piston gas system of the AR platform and can be switched between calibers in a matter of minutes with no tools.  The full-size version is built with a 16 inch barrel surrounded by a free-floating quad rail that offers a full-length optics rail.

Colt CM901 Capacity

The Colt CM901 is a multi-caliber platform that can be chambered in .308 WIN, 5.56, 6.5 Creedmoor, .300 Blackout and 7.62x39mm and feeds from AR10 and AR15 pattern magazines.  The lower receiver can be fitted with a magazine adapter allowing different size magazines to be used with the same rifle.  This allows the rifle to use any size magazine ranging from the stubby 10 round magazines to the standard size 20 and 30 rounders.
Measuring 37.5 inches long with an unloaded weight of 9.4 pounds, the CM901 offers impressive mobility for an AR10 pattern rifle, especially when you consider the free-floating capability of the handguard that normally bumps the weight of AR10’s well over 11 pounds.  Its relatively short length also makes it much easier to carry through different environments over other AR10 rifles.

Colt CM901 Ergonomics

Ergonomics
The CM901 has identical controls to the AR10 and AR15 and comes from Colt with a Mil-Spec grip and a SOPMOD style 6-position adjustable stock.  The quad-rail handguard offers a very beefy grip and is incredibly sturdy due to the upper receiver being machined from a single piece of aluminum.  The magazine adapter for intermediate calibers goes unnoticed which is a wonderful execution of engineering.

Colt CM901 Fit & Finish

The CM901 offers a very unique and innovative caliber change system that allows the user to switch between full-power .308WIN and intermediate caliber like 5.56mm by removing the upper, replacing the recoil buffer and spring, inserting the magazine adapter and changing the magazine used.  All internal parts consist of COLT-made standard AR10 and AR15 components.
