Bushmaster Carbon 15 Capacity
The Bushmaster Carbon 15 is chambered in 5.56x45mmNATO (.223 Remington) and feeds from standard AR15 magazines. This provides the user with capacities of 5, 10, 20, 30 and 40 rounds in standard box magazines and 60 and 100 rounds with quad-stack and drum magazines.
Bushmaster Carbon 15 Feature
The Bushmaster Carbon-15 is a semi-automatic gas operated rifle that operates on a typical AR15 internal-piston action with a multi-lug rotating bolt. They are typically built with 16.5 inch barrels with a carbine length gas system and lack the M203 cut on the barrel. The receivers are typically produced with an older style of casts to give it a retro look.
Bushmaster Carbon 15 Ergonomics
The Carbon-15 is built with standard fire control components and a 1970’s era adjustable stock to maintain a retro look. Bushmaster uses varying styles of drop-in fiberglass grips that can be M4 Mil-Spec or reproductions of the CAR-15 handguard used by Special Forces, SOG and Navy SEALs during the Vietnam War.
Bushmaster Carbon 15 Mobility
Measuring 32.75 inches long with its stock collapsed and with an unloaded weight of 6.5 pounds, the Carbon-15 lands on-par for overall mobility when compared to other standard-build AR15 pattern rifles. With its “hulk grip” handguard preventing the attachment of any front grips, the amount of sharp and protruding edges is minimized, limiting how easy it is to get the rifle hung-up on dense brush or equipment.
Bushmaster Carbon 15 Fit-N-Finish
The Carbon-15 uses standard Mil-Spec internal components and moving parts. It uses a commercial-sized carbine buffer tube (for no good reason) and a 3.5 oz buffer. While there’s nothing about its components that make it stand out or perform better, there’s nothing stopping it from being a reliable rifle if it is properly maintained.
