Browning Bl-22 Capacity
The BL-22 is chambered in .22LR and feeds from a fixed magazine tube with a 15 round capacity when loaded with .22LR ammo. It can also be loaded and safely fired with .22 Short ammo giving it an impressive capacity of 19 rounds. Rounds are loaded through a loading port in the magazine tube towards the front of the tube on the underside.
Browning Bl-22 Feature
The Browning BL-22 is a lever-action .22 caliber rifle that is built with a 20 inch barrel topped with fixed iron sights. It fires from a single-action trigger pull with a hammer that is reset when the action is cycled. The action lever has a notably short 33 degree throw which is a far cry from standard lever action rifles making the BL-22 very popular with cowboy-action shooters.
Browning Bl-22 Ergonomics
The BL-22 maintains a classic straight-grip stock and a 9 inch forend that gives it a very classic and historic feel. The action lever is standard-sized which allows for all hand sizes to be accommodated, but gloved hands likely won’t fit. The grip is small enough to easily reach up and retract the hammer when you’re ready to fire.
Browning Bl-22 Mobility
Measuring 36.75 inches long with an unloaded weight of only 5 pounds, the BL-22 offers very easy handling and mobility making it a great choice for cowboy action shooting as well as an excellent option for a first gun purchase. With its smooth contours and simple geometry, the BL-22 prevents brush and dense foliage from tangling up the gun while out squirrel hunting in the woods.
Browning Bl-22 Fit-N-Finish
The BL-22 has a machined steel receiver as opposed to the pot-metal alloy commonly found on .22 caliber lever action rifles. The steel parts are all blued to prevent rust and retain a film of oil, and the American Walnut furniture is sanded smooth and sealed with a high-gloss clear coat.
