Black Rain Ordnance SPEC15 Features

The Black Rain Ordnance SPEC 15 is a semi-automatic AR15 pattern rifle that operates on a carbine-length gas system paired with a standard internal-piston bolt assembly with a multi-lug rotating bolt.  This rifle has a 16 inch barrel paired with a free-floating 15 inch handguard that includes an interrupted top rail and has forward-mounted M-Lok slots to allow for attachments.

Black Rain Ordnance SPEC15 Capacity

The SPEC 15 is chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO (.223 Remington) and feeds from all AR15 pattern magazines.  While this gives the rifle a standard magazine capacity of 30 rounds, it can also accept the smaller 5, 10 and 20 round magazines.  If you’re one of the cool kids and 30 isn’t enough, this rifle also accepts the larger 40, 60 and 100 round magazines that can be found at most gun stores.
The SPEC 15 has the same overall length as any 16 inch off-the-shelf AR15 and has an unloaded weight of 7.5 pounds making it only slightly heavier than a fully mil-spec AR.  The big advantage with this rifle is in its handguard which offers a more comfortable grip.  As for the mobility, it’s pretty much on-par with the rest of the AR15’s on the market.

The SPEC 15 is built with a Magpul MOE grip and adjustable stock which are far superior to the A2 or GWOT pattern components.  The front handguard is considerably wider than most free-floating options, though it does extend out to the flash hider allowing you to hold it anywhere.  The interrupted rail allows the user to employ the C-clamp grip style which is favored among competitive shooters.
