See DealThe Beretta M9—officially the Pistol, Semiautomatic, 9mm, M9—is the designation for the Beretta 92FS semi-automatic pistol used by the United States Armed Forces. The M9 was adopted by the United States military as their service pistol in 1985. The 92FS won a competition in the 1980s to replace the M1911A1 as the primary sidearm of the U.S. military, beating many other contenders, and only narrowly defeating the SIG Sauer P226 for cost reasons. It officially entered service in 1990. Some other pistols

have been adopted to a lesser extent, namely the SIG P228 pistol, and other models remain in use in certain niches. The M9 was scheduled to be replaced under a United States Army program, the Future Handgun System (FHS), which was merged with the SOF Combat Pistol program to create the Joint Combat Pistol (JCP). The JCP was renamed Combat Pistol (CP), and the number of pistols to be bought was drastically cut back. The U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps are replacing the M9 with the SIG Sauer M17 and M18.Beretta M9 For Sale

Beretta M9 Capacity
The Beretta M9 is chambered in 9x19mm and uses double-stack, single-feed detachable magazines. Standard magazines are 15 and 17 rounds with 10-round magazines available in states with magazine restrictions while aftermarket magazine makers offer a 32 round capacity.
Beretta M9 Feature
The Beretta 92FS is a semi-automatic alloy-framed pistol chambered in 9mm and has a standard magazine capacity of 15 rounds. This gun uses an open-slide design and has a 4.9 inch barrel. Its short-recoil action is locked by a locking wedge under the barrel instead of using a tilting-barrel lockup. This allows for lighter and cheaper sound suppressors to be mounted to the barrel that don’t require internal springs.
Beretta M9 Ergonomics
The Beretta 92FS has identical ergonomics and controls to the original Beretta 92F pistol. It uses the same DA/SA trigger, and the slide-mounted safety remains ambidextrous. Its full-sized grip allows for plenty of control when firing.
Beretta M9 Concealability
The Beretta M9 is a large, full-sized pistol and would be very difficult to carry concealed without heavy attire. Designed as a duty pistol and military sidearm, this gun is best carried along a duty belt or in other open-carry settings.
Beretta M9 Fit-N-Finish
The Beretta M9 is built like a tank and can stand up to just about any abuse thrown at it. The finish on its metal components is very durable against long-term wear, and the design allows it to still function reliably even with heavy wear.
