Beretta Arx 160 Feature
The ARX160 available in the United States is chambered in .22LR and is not to be confused with the 5.56mm machine gun. The civilian-legal version in 5.56 is the ARX100. The Beretta ARX160 is a semi-automatic rifle chambered in .22LR and is modeled after the ARX100. Just like its stronger brother, this .22 has an 18 inch barrel and full-length optics rail with built-in back-up iron sights. This rifle runs on a direct-blowback action unlike its gas-operated 5.56 counterpart.
Beretta Arx 160 Ergonomics
The ARX160 has ambidextrous controls including its charging handle that can be switched from the left to right side simply by locking the bolt to the rear and pushing it to the other side. The folding stock can also extend and contract to allow quick adjustments to the rifle’s length of pull.
Beretta Arx 160 Mobility
The ARX160 measures 36 inches long and has an unloaded weight of 6.6 pounds making it nearly identical in length and weight to the 5.56 caliber versions of the rifle. With a length equal to a typical AR15 and an average of one pound lighter than the same, the ARX160 has excellent mobility. Its ambidextrous controls allow for easy manipulation by both left and right handed users and its folding stock aids in maneuvering in and out of vehicles.
Beretta Arx 160 Fit-N-Finish
The Beretta ARX160 is built with a very liberal application of polymer for its receiver set and stock. The plastic itself is strong and can flex without cracking to increase its general resilience. This firearm is available as a rifle or as a pistol.
