The MRAD also boasts Barrett's fully adjustable match-grade trigger module, which is user accessible. The thumb-operated safety can be configured for left or right hand operation. The ambidextrous magazine release can be used intuitively while retaining a firing grip and cheek weld.
Integrated into the MRAD rifle's 7000 series aluminum upper receiver is a 21.75 inch M1913 rail with 30 MOA taper. The forward receiver is drilled and tapped for accessory rails to be mounted at the 3, 6 and 9 o'clock positions.
The MRAD stock is foldable for enhanced portability yet locks in as solid as a fixed-stock rifle, creating a rigid platform for consistent firing. During transport the stock folds and locks onto the bolt handle maintaining the same rifle width whether folded or extended.
Made of a temperature-resistant polymer, the adjustable cheek piece also offers a consistent rifle-to-user contact point. The rifle's length of pull can be set to five different positions with the push of a single button.

The MRAD is available in 6 different calibers that include .338 Lapua Magnum, .300 Norma Magnum, .300 PRC, .300 WinMag, .308 Winchester (7.62x51mm NATO) and 6.5 Creedmoor. This rifle feeds from a double-stack, double-feed detachable box magazine that has a capacity of 10 rounds. Currently, nobody makes shorter 5 round or larger 20 round magazines. The .308 and 6.5mm versions of this rifle do not accept AR10 pattern magazines.
Barrett Mrad Feature
The Barrett MRAD is a long-range precision bolt action rifle that has a number of design features that enhance its performance. With a single tool, a user can replace the 26 inch barrel with one shorter that come in lengths of 18, 20, 22 and 24 inches, thus allowing the user to modify their rifle to be task-specific. The bolt is protected by a polymer sleeve that offers a smooth cycle which improves feel, and this sleeve also acts as a dust shield when the bolt is closed. The rifle does not ship with any optics allowing you to choose for yourself, and the full-length top rail has a 10 milliradian slant to allow easier use at long ranges.
Barrett Mrad Ergonomics
The MRAD uses an AR15 style grip and safety selector and has an AK-style ambidextrous magazine release while the handguard has an octagonal cross section. The stock includes an adjustable cheek riser to ensure a proper sight picture when you bring the gun up, and it can also be finely adjusted for length of pull allowing you to perfectly fit the rifle to your body.
Barrett Mrad Mobility
When equipped with a 26 inch barrel, the MRAD measures 49.5 inches long and has an unloaded weight of 14.5 pounds, and once a scope and bipod are added, this rifle typically weighs 16 to 17 pounds with a full magazine. Thank goodness it’s long-range capable, right? While this rifle is long, its folding stock does allow the platform to be shortened to about 40 inches long, so if you don’t factor in its weight, it’s as easy to store, retrieve or carry as a 20-inch A2 pattern AR15.
Barrett Mrad Fit-N-Finish
The MRAD is a very modular system that can easily be completely disassembled by the user for a proper detail cleaning. The upper and lower receivers as well as the folding stock are made of 7000-series aircraft-grade aluminum that are type-3 hard anodized for resistance against wear and environmental factors. This rifle is available in black, gray and desert tan.
