The ATI GSG 522SD is chambered in .22LR and uses curved polymer detachable box magazines. The standard capacity magazines hold 22 rounds while 10-round magazines also exist for people who live in states with dumb gun laws.
American Tactical Gsg 552 Sd Feature
The American Tactical Imports German Sport Guns Model 522-SD is a semi-automatic .22 caliber rifle built to mimic the handling and look of the world-renowned HK MP5-SD. Built with a fake suppressor that wraps around the barrel and acts as a heat shield, this rifle features a plastic fixed stock, rubberized handguard and iron sights that are nearly identical to the original. A MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail is attached to the top of the receiver to accept optics.

The GSG 522SD has identical controls to the MP5 including its fire selector that is difficult to reach even with big hands. Its charging handle is able to be pulled back and rotated upwards like the MP5 and loves to be smacked just as hard. The magazine release can be engaged by pressing from the right side or by pressing the paddle forward just like on the real deal.

The 522SD has an unloaded weight under 6 pounds and measures 33 inches long making it an excellent tactical plinkster. It can be even shorter if you attach the aftermarket collapsing stock. This rifle is so light and handy that you’ll be asking every British person to yell at you to check your corners.
American Tactical Gsg 552 Sd Fit-N-Finish
The GSG 522SD along with other 522 models have receivers, magazines and handguards that are made of polymer materials. The bolt, trigger, charging handle, barrel and faux suppressor are made of stainless steel and are very resistant to damage from weather and wear. Disassembly is far easier than most “tactical” .22 caliber rifles thanks to its bolt carrier group coming out as an entire assembly that can be cleaned with a blast of brake cleaner and a takedown method that is eerily similar to the original MP5.
