Anderson Manufacturing Am-15 Pistol Capacity
The AM15 is chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO (.223 Remington) and feeds from all AR15 pattern magazines. While the standard magazine capacity is 30 rounds, shorter 5, 10 and 20 round magazines are easy to find. The AM15 can also accept the longer 40 round magazines as well as the 60 and 100 round quad-stack and drum magazines.
Anderson Manufacturing Am-15 Pistol Feature
Anderson Manufacturing’s AM15 Pistol is a semi-automatic AR15 pattern pistol that operates on the same internal-piston and multi lug rotating bolt action that is commonly found in other AR15 models. This pistol has a 7.5 inch barrel and lacks a stock, two features that define it as a pistol under the NFA. It also has a 7 inch handguard around the barrel that offers a full-length top rail giving the user approximately 14 inches of rail space to mount a wide variety of optics.
Anderson Manufacturing Am-15 Pistol Ergonomics
The AM15 Pistol has an identical control layout to other AR15 pattern firearms with basic right-hand controls, so the learning curve is rather flat. The handguard has an octagonal cross section and measures approximately 1.6 inches wide. Since there is no stock on this pistol, the easiest way to fire it would be to attach a one-point sling and hold it by pushing out with both hands against the sling to offer a slightly more stable shooting grip.
Anderson Manufacturing Am-15 Pistol Mobility
The AM15 has an unloaded weight of 6 pounds and has an overall length just shy of 26 inches which keeps it firmly defined as a pistol. Its lighter weight allows it to be carried just as long as a full-size AR, and its shorter length makes it much easier to navigate through tight spaces. This small AR is also small enough to be a decent candidate for a truck gun.
Anderson Manufacturing Am-15 Pistol Fit-N-Finish
The AM15 is built on a Mil-Spec receiver set forged by Cero Fabrications and is built almost entirely with Mil-Spec parts. The only non-standard parts are the barrel and gas system, the buffer tube, and the hammer in the trigger assembly. All other components are identical in construction to a typical entry-level AR15.
