An-94 Capacity
The AN-94 is chambered in 5.45x39mm and uses the same magazines as the AK74 rifle as well as the 75 round drum mags that can be used on the RPK74.
An-94 Feature
The AN-94 is the furthest thing you can get from being an AK-pattern gun and still get confused as an AK. The AN-94 uses a unique gas system that delays the felt recoil which allows the first two shots to be fired at an incredibly fast 1800 rounds per minute while the next rounds fire at a more standard fire rate of 600 rounds per minute.
An-94 Ergonomics
The only parts that the AN-94 has in common with the AK74 is the magazine and the pistol grip, though the controls are located in the same places. The reciprocating charging handle sits on the right side of the bolt and the magazine release sits behind the trigger, however the magazine sits canted off to one side in order for the gas system to work properly. The handguard is also notably longer providing more surface area to the user over the AK74.
An-94 Mobility
Measuring 37.1 inches with an unloaded weight of 8.4 pounds, the AN-94 has identical accolades for maneuverability against full-length AK74 pattern rifles. The folding stock that comes standard with the AN-94 assists in easy navigation in and out of vehicles as well as jumping out of planes as Spetsnaz is known to do with this rifle.
An-94 Fit-N-Finish
Do you see how different it is to the AK74 now? Between the muzzle device and all of the other crazy engineering inside the gun, this rifle is a technological marvel. The most impressive part of the gun is its two-round burst setting that, if you weren’t paying attention, could be mistaken as a single round fired.
