Taurus Th40 Capacity
The Taurus TH40 is chambered in .40 S&W and feeds from double-stack, single-feed magazines with a standard capacity of 15 rounds. If you live in a state with capacity restrictions, fear not because 10 round magazines are easy to find. This pistol is NOT rated to handle +P rounds.
Taurus Th40 Feature
The Taurus TH40 and its TH9 counterpart were Taurus’ entry into the modern full-size pistol market. The TH40 operates on a Browning style short recoil action with a 4.27 inch tilting barrel and can be fired from either a double- or single-action trigger pull with the slide resetting the hammer into single-action.
Taurus Th40 Ergonomics
The Th40 has ambidextrous controls including a magazine release that can be used from either side without having to switch any pieces around. The manual safety also acts as a de-cocker that sets the hammer back into double-action without the need to pull the trigger. The grip includes removable back straps that can easily be switched out with a hammer and punch to allow users to tailor the grip to their hand.
Taurus Th40 Concealability
The TH40 measures almost 8 inches long and stands 5.5 inches high making it about as difficult to effectively conceal as a full-size 1911. Concealment is only feasible with heavier, larger or longer clothing, a good quality IWB holster and smart holster placement. It would also be smart to wear an undershirt when carrying this pistol as the exposed hammer can dig into your gut.
Taurus Th40 Fit-N-Finish
The TH40 is built on a polymer frame that is available in either black or desert tan and has a steel slide with a black finish. The barrels are made of stainless steel to prevent corrosion and rust.
